The exhibition of works by students of
the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
“ONLINE 2021: Exhibition of Works by Students” presents the educational and creative achievements of the nine faculties of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw: the Faculties of Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Arts, Conservation and Restoration, Interior Design, Design, Media Art, Stage Design, and Management of Visual Culture.
Selected works present the process of acquiring creative competencies by students from the first year to the last years of studies at the Academy. ONLINE 2021 shows the issues that currently preoccupy the artistic community of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and accurately reflects the characteristics of education at the Academy.
The academic year 2020/2021 – and in particular its second half – was a major challenge for all of us. Remote teaching which we were forced to implement as a result of the epidemic was a real test for us, but it also gave us new opportunities that we wanted to turn into success. On the ONLINE 2021 website, we present over a twenty five hundred paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, videos, conservation works and other works by students created mainly in the academic year 2020/2021. A year requiring our students and teaching staff to be particularly self-disciplined, determined and motivated to create, irrespective of the living conditions, availability of space and tools, and epidemiological threats. ONLINE 2021 shows how hardships can become a motivator for creative efforts and artistic development, and that it is not easy to break the spirit of young art.
Let us take a look together what this extraordinary time has changed in this young art – what it taught us and how it enriched us.
I cordially invite you to visit our virtual presentation.
Dear Students,
I am pleased to launch the second edition of the ONLINE 2021 exhibition of your works. Each edition is unique, presenting the most interesting artistic works of our nine faculties in a given academic year. Your course and degree pieces are the testimony of the quality of education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; they also show how interesting our differences can be in art – the area that knows no boundaries and allows each of you to shine. Thanks to you, teachers are motivated to continuously improve themselves and follow the challenges of today. I would like to congratulate all students who have overcome the difficulties of education during the lockdown and have expressed their artistic thought in the form of the works presented. I wish our graduates professional success in their selected fields of art, and I wish our students that they complete the diploma piece of their dreams.
I would like to congratulate all of you: students and teachers at our Academy.
