Description
The exhibition presents Hans Arp’s works as an example of living matter. It is a pretext to delve into the broadly understood concept of organic abstraction. It shows the profile of the sculptor who was the forerunner of this trend in abstract sculpture and one of its most outstanding representatives.
The exhibition is housed in the Zachęta National Art Gallery. It is located at Plac Stanisława Małachowskiego 3 in Warsaw. It serves as a centre for promotion of contemporary art, where both individual and collective exhibitions of works by artists from around the world are held. The Hans Arp & Organic Abstraction exhibition is located in the Matejko Room. The exhibition includes eight separate zones. The aim is to maintain coherent composition. Each zone contains interrelated elements, works or information about the artist. Altogether, the exhibition presents 12 sculptures and 6 reliefs and a multimedia show with a series of the artist’s photographs.
