What is the Centre? Recognising some place as a centre is a very arbitrary thing. Where is my centre? My centre of the world is not a specific place or a point on the map. I perceive my centre wherever my surroundings are. It is this table, this chair, this bookshelf, this bed... My centre is wherever I put these objects. In a sense, I am also this centre among these objects. They can be located in a specific apartment, any kind of urban space, or in the heart of nature. Displaying the furnishing of my room in various spaces shows my way to the permanent place that I search for – the oasis. In the first shot we see my current room, in the second shot the room is transferred to a public space, and in the third one it is located in a forest. The last shot is meant to symbolise stillness and relaxation. Through this project, I wanted to say that the centre is accessible to me as along as my objects are around me.
