Description
The conservation of a portrait of Franciszek Rudnicki made around 1804, carried out under a regular course by Filip Kurzawa, a student of the 2nd year. The painting was made using an interesting technology – the warp consists of two canvas panels sewn manually with a thread, with a visible seam. The main conservation tasks completed in the last academic year included cleaning the painting of the yellowed, strongly cracked and prised varnish, which gave the painting a warm brown yellow shade inconsistent with its original colours.
