We live in the time and place where capitalism and consumerism systemically drive our culture. The cult of possessing and continuously purchasing new and better things has become a mass need, which is often treated as equal to the most essential needs. The issue of climate crisis and degradation of our planet has been gaining attention for some time, but systemic changes do not occur quickly enough. On the other hand, it is reassuring to see that people, particularly young ones, are increasingly aware of the negative impact of their daily choices on the planet and take actions to reduce their own participation in the degradation of the Earth. In the presented video, I undertook to document everyday practices and opinions on various topics around less and zero waste – recycling, buying secondhand clothes, DIY, freeganism, etc. Personal recordings, glimpses of everyday life, my and my partner’s, intertwine with opinions of some young people on such topics as buying secondhand clothes or freeganism.
