I chose the School of Ballet and Dance as the subject-matter of my documentary work. Presently, all of us experience difficult times of the pandemic and I thought this topic could be a nice distraction. The school brings together various people of all ages and professions. The classes are attended both by professional dancers and hobbyists. But there is one thing that unites them: their love for dancing. I was introduced to the school by Urszula Tomaszewska, one of the students. She showed me what everything looks like from the inside and actually guided me through the process. The world of ballet dances is in fact quite different from what we imagine. It is not a sad and solemn dance, but happiness filled with passion. And the school environment surprised me with its openness and warmth.
