Description

The aim of the design was to translate the artist’s lifetime work – the design of graphics of the New York subway route – into an exhibition. The exhibition cumulates three areas of Vignelli’s activity: furniture, design and graphics. The square grid served as a basis for the drawing of the layout, which was based on the principle of breaking the line at an angle of 45 and 90 degrees. The resulting composition was divided into three colours taken from the map, and individual zones of the exhibition were assigned to them. In addition, the entire graphics work was elevated to the height of 3 m in the form of foamed PVC slats.
