Monika Jadzińska, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Dean of the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art
I invite you to the ONLINE 2021 exhibition presenting the best artistic achievements and conservation projects of our students. It is extremely difficult to show hundreds of hours of work on a historical item, dozens of studies, analyses, discussions, often surprising discoveries, and passion, without which many of the challenges of saving such works would not be possible to handle. In order to carry out a conservation and restoration project on a work of art, students must be equipped with intellectual competencies, outstanding manual abilities, and also be attentive, sensitive and patient. The studies at our Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art reinforce and develop these qualities, providing tools, interdisciplinary knowledge (expertise) and reliable techniques. The work after conservation usually does not show the great effort put into it, but expresses its gratitude by existing for decades, or even hundreds of years to come.
